The finals of the Third Jawi Reading Competition for religious schools in Brunei Zone III were held yesterday at the Fathul Busyra Hall, Beribi Religious School in Gadong.
Mohd Saifuddin Safwan bin Said from the Beribi Religious School and Nurul Huda binti Dr Hj Rozaimee secured first place in the male and female categories, respectively, beating ten other representatives of Zone III religious schools. The competition, held in response to His Majesty’s Titah encouraging citizens of Brunei Darussalam to be Jawi-literate, was also meant to motivate children in learning and using Jawi.
