Nineteen orphans of Kampong Kapok yesterday received donations totaling $5,377 that were collected from residents of the village.

The donations were distributed by guest of honour Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Ahmad bin Haji Jumaat, former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports at the residence of Kampong Kapok village head, Haji Marali bin Haji Ahmad.

Also held yesterday was the village’s annual Majlis Doa Arwah and Tahlil.
