‘The Pillar of an Excellent Muslimah’

A special talk on ‘Strengthening and the Understanding of Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah’ in conjunction with the Israk Mikraj 1432 Hijrah celebration was organised by the Muslimah Affairs Unit, Mosque Affairs Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Apart from fostering a greater understanding on Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, this inaugural event also aimed to produce pious Muslimahs and elevate the roles of mosques as a centre for knowledge and missionary activities. It was also hoped that the event would create an individual who can adapt and implement the elements of Islamic teachings and Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah in all aspects of their lives.

In a speech by the Head of Muslimah Affairs Unit, Ustazah Hajah Seimah binti Haji Abdul Salam, as the event chairperson, a programme on ‘Strengthening Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah’ has been incorporated in the syllabus of the Muslimah Guidance Classes and was taught during the final week of every month to further strengthen religious knowledge among the women.

A recitation of surah al-fatihah – led by Ustazah Dayangku Hajah Maswita binti Pengiran Haji Sabtu – a religious officer at the Muslimah Affairs Unit, began the ceremony. Tausyeh performance was also showcased by the Muslimah Group of Kampong Masin Mosque.

Meanwhile, the talk yesterday, titled ‘Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah: The Pillar of an Excellent Muslimah’ was delivered by Ustazah Hajah Noor binti Haji Mohadi, an Advisory Consultant at the Syariah Affairs Department, MoRA.

Present as the guest of honour was the wife of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Datin Hajah Alimah binti Mohd Taib. Also present were the wives of the deputy minister, permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at MoRA, Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPUSB), as well as senior officers and Muslimahs from mosques nationwide.
